Sensual Dancing in Laser Light
The Laser Sabre measures just over 110 cms in length x 6cms diameter and is created from a hollow tube of pure quartz, set on the outside with hundreds of natural and faceted crystals, including opal, garnet, moonstone, ruby, sapphire, tourmaline, cubic zironca, topaz, amethyst, citrine, etc. The faceted stones are placed in mostly triangular groupings in specific positions on the body of the sabre. The groupings are important when using the lasers, as they facets of the stones will break up the original laser beams and split them into dozens of smaller ones which then pass through the transparent bodies of the stones, through the transparent body of the sabre and hit the stones placed on the other side of the sabre which then break up the laser beams into dozens more, which repeat the process up and down the body of the sabre, creating hundreds of beams that emit from the sabre, creating a spectacular kaleidoscopic laser light show that projects over 100 yards, falling over every surface in their path. The nature of the quartz body of the sabre also affects the laser beams and emits perfect unbroken circles of laser light. Due to the nature of natural crystals, each one emits different patterns of wavelengths of laser light, creating amazing patterns of projected light.
Three different coloured lasers are set up to converge and cross at one point in space approximately two metres above the ground. The sabre is then picked up and slowly moved up and down, around and around, through the laser beams. This is performed to music that i have especially composed for the laser sabre performance. The effect is quite different from person to person, as no two people will move the sabre in an identical fashion.
